Trump signs bill squashing Obama-era financial rule for fossil fuels

By John Siciliano President Trump took his first step Tuesday in fulfilling a campaign promise to the energy industry by signing a bill that repeals an Obama-era rule requiring fossil fuel companies to report their foreign dealings. The Senate and House both passed the bill, called a resolution of disapproval, soon after Trump was sworn in as president. The Securities and Exchange Commission finalized the rule last year after a court vacated an earlier version of it. Trump is expected to sign another bill repealing the Stream Protection Rule in the coming days that directly affects coal miners. Congress...

Quebec sees biggest increase in illegal crossings from U.S., RCMP says

Proximity to New York City and Washington, help of people-smugglers partly blamed for increase By Elysha Enos Quebec is dealing with Canada’s largest increase in the number of asylum seekers crossing illegally into the country from the U.S., law enforcement officials said Monday. It is an increase that refugee lawyers are attributing to uncertainty over immigration policies in the U.S., which have become a hallmark of the young administration of President Donald Trump. There were 42 claims for asylum status filed last weekend alone at Quebec land borders, according to the Canada Border Services Agency. In January, 452 people claimed asylum at Quebec border...

Sources: Former Obama officials, loyalists planted series of stories to discredit Flynn, bolster Iran deal BY: Adam KredoFollow @Kredo0 The abrupt resignation Monday evening of White House national security adviser Michael Flynn is the culmination of a secret, months-long campaign by former Obama administration confidantes to handicap President Donald Trump’s national security apparatus and preserve the nuclear deal with Iran, according to multiple sources in and out of the White House who described to the Washington Free Beacon a behind-the-scenes effort by these officials to plant a series of damaging stories about Flynn in the national media. The effort,...

No, internet, Fidel Castro isn’t Trudeau’s real father. The Canadian prime minister just really, really looks like him

by Tristin Hopper More from Tristin Hopper | @TristinHopper In the darker corners of the internet dwells a theory as outlandish as it is compelling: That the real father of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is the late Cuban dictator Fidel Castro. The theory falls apart after only a cursory look at the historical evidence, but it persists for one reason alone: Justin Trudeau’s appearance is strikingly similar to that of the late Cuban dictator. “Preposterous!” Canadian historian Robert Wright told the National Post. (He also requested that the word ‘preposterous’ be printed in bold and italic). Wright’s 2007...

Fake News: Politico Scrubs Soros Ties to Anti-Trump Group Trying to Mobilize Nationwide Protests

by Aaron Klein A Politico profile of a new anti-Trump protest movement calling itself “Indivisible” reported that “conservatives” are “spreading unfounded rumors” that the group is “being driven by wealthy donors like George Soros.” Politico, however, seemingly failed to do even the most minimal research on the Indivisible leaders cited in the news outlet’s own profile.  Some of those personalities are openly associated with groups financed by Soros. Politico further failed to note that the organizations cited in its article as helping to amplify Indivisible’s message are either financed directly by Soros or have close ties to groups funded...

University scientists claim left-wing violence is caused by global warming… “the planet made them do it”

by Mike Adams In what seems like a nod to violent protesters like the unhinged left-wing rioters who recently attacked Milo Yiannopoulos at UC Berkeley, Iowa State University scientists have published an analysis that claims global warming is the root cause behind the increase in violence we’re witnessing right now across society. Not only does the analysis fall for the global warming climate hoax based on fraudulently manipulated temperature data and severe scientific fraud committed by the NOAA, it also seeks to dissociate violent left-wing rioters from any responsibility for their own behavior. In effect, the analysis asserts that...

Demand for organic food creating new “gold rush” for producers

by Isabelle Z. The demand for organic food has grown so dramatically in recent years that experts are likening it to a “gold rush mentality,” as producers scramble to transition their fields to earn organic certification. 2015 saw a 12 percent rise in organic sales over the previous year, reaching $6.2 billion. The increase is even more dramatic when viewed over the longer term; organic spending has risen by 72 percent since 2008. Farmers are struggling to keep up with the surge in demand for organic food, with the proportion of American crop land devoted to organic production sitting...

Juncker Will Not Run Again for President of EU – Says it Will Break Up

by Martin Armstrong President of the European Union Jean-Claude Juncker has announced his departure saying he fears the breakup of the EU and says there is just too much defeatism in Europe. The EU has refused to listen and its fixed goal on a federalized Europe has been unwilling to yield. They have made it an all or now choice, typical of politicians detached from reality. Juncker says he doubts whether the member states would find a unity in the face of Brexit: “Because the British will be able to divide the other 27 member states without great effort.” Juncker is...
