How to Arm the Citizenry

Kyle Coplen may not be a sidesaddle gunslinger — the 29-year-old got his master’s in public administration from the University of Houston this spring — but he can handle a weapon. And he is working to make sure you can, too. Coplen is the founder and head of the Armed Citizen Project (ACP), a Houston-based nonprofit that trains single women and residents of crime-ridden neighborhoods in firearms use — and then arms them. It’s a small-scale effort so far, but Coplen has lofty targets. ACP aims to arm citizens in 15 cities nationwide by the end of 2013,… View Article

80 percent of US packaged foods may contain dangerous chemicals

Roughly 80 percent of all the packaged foods sold within the United States contain chemicals outlawed in other parts of the world, Britain’s Daily Mail reports. Six common food additives found in an estimated 8-out-of-10  products sold in American stores are banned outside of the US,  the Mail claims, putting millions of Americans at risk of  consuming chemicals considered too dangerous for humans in other  countries. Grocery shop items including best-selling soft-drinks and cereal  sold in the US contain additives such as brominated vegetable  oil, olestra and others that have been banned in the European  Union and elsewhere. The Daily… View Article

Duma gives final approval to same sex couples adoptions ban

The Russian Lower House approved the bill that includes a ban on adoptions of Russian children by foreign same sex couples. The bill on state help to orphans and children deprived of  parental support was passed by a unanimous vote with 444 MPs  voting for it. The document provides for a radical increase in  allowances to foster families and also allows state sponsorship  of medical help that Russian orphans receive abroad. Also the  adoption procedure has been simplified – court decisions allowing  adoptions will come into force in 10 days instead of the previous  30 days, and the law allows… View Article

Did Navy sub missile hit TWA 800?

The impending release of a new documentary has dramatically revived media  interest in the destruction of TWA Flight 800, the Paris-bound plane that blew  up off the coast of Long Island in July 1996. Although producers Tom Stalcup and Kristina Borjesson do not name names or  point fingers, the video leads the viewer to believe that the U.S. Navy  accidentally shot the plane down. The video features a half-dozen truth tellers from within the investigation,  and the news of it has inspired several more to step forward, including one who  talked with WND about… View Article

Bill Ayers: Try Obama for ‘War Crimes’

Former domestic terrorist and liberal educator Bill Ayers may think Obama is a charming and likable but still wants him tried for war crimes. Ayers cited the president’s drone program and military campaigns in Afghanistan and other places. In a continuing video series called the RCP Morning Commute, where well-known Chicagoans and folks in the news take a “morning commute” drive with the Charlie Stone and Tom Bevan of Real Clear Politics, Bill Ayers made his assessment of the Obama presidency. And he wasn’t wholly complimentary. When asked to grade the president’s term in office, the infamous educator proclaimed Obama’s… View Article

White House Petition to Ban Creationism Gathering Steam

A White House petition to ban the teaching of creationism and Intelligent Design in American classrooms has garnered 23,715 signatures in one week. “Both of these so-called ‘theories’ have no basis in scientific fact, and have absolutely zero evidence pointing towards these conjectures. These types of loopholes in our education are partially to blame for our dangerously low student performances in math and science,” reads the petition created by someone listed as A.J. of Vienna, Virginia. “Therefore, we petition the Obama Administration to ban the teachings of these conjectures that contradict Evolution.” The petition must receive 100,000 signatures by July… View Article

65,000 Rounds Donated for Rifle Training at Boy Scouts Camp

CBS St. Louis is reporting that scouts attending the Boy Scouts of America Cornhusker Council day camp will be able to shoot real rifles for firearm training thanks to a donation of 65,000 rounds of ammunition. Prior to receiving these bullets, camp personnel thought the scouts would have to shoot air rifles instead. Cornhusker Council district director Jerad Reimers said he had asked “suppliers for bullets but came up empty-handed.” He then asked gun shops, and received about 1,500 rounds in donations. From there, word began to spread and people from all over the country began to donate. The Lincoln… View Article

Talk hosts recruited to push immigration reform?

America’s TV and radio talk hosts have been reportedly wooed behind the  scenes to get their more conservative audience to back immigration-reform  legislation. The New Yorker’s Ryan Lizza stirred up a hornet’s nest earlier this week by  reporting that Sens. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., and John McCain, R-Ariz. – two of the  “Gang of Eight” behind the Senate’s comprehensive immigration-reform bill – and  others have talked privately to Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly and other “top hosts” to  get them on board. Then Thursday evening, after he admitted to speaking with Rubio on the phone  earlier in the day and getting certain… View Article

Obama called ‘hypocrite of the century’

A member of  the Irish parliament has sharply attacked U.S. President Barack Obama’s  policies, calling him a “war criminal” and “hypocrite of the  century.”  “Is this person  going for the hypocrite of the century award?” Left wing Member of Parliament  Clare Daly asked of Obama during a speech before parliament at the end of the G8  summit held in Northern Ireland.  “Because we have  to call things by their right names, and the reality is that by any serious  examination, this man is a war criminal,” she was quoted as saying by The  Huffington Post.  “This is the man  who… View Article

Corker Amendment Permanently Offers Citizenship to Those Overstaying Their Visa

Just as public anxiety about the weak border security provisions in the Senate immigration bill was building, GOP Sen. Bob Corker stepped forward with an amendment to “fix” the problem. The result of his efforts, however, has been a “christmas tree” measure, covering items far beyond border security. Breitbart News has learned exclusively that one provision of Corker’s amendment will allow workers who stay in the country past their visa will remain on the “path to citizenship.” Even in the future, breaking the law won’t stop progress on what VP Joe Biden calls the “unfettered path” to citizenship. The Corker… View Article
