Neighbors organize ‘Glock Block’ after increase in crime

Frustrated by an increase in petty crime,  residents of an Oregon neighborhood have decided to arm themselves instead of  calling the police. Residents of a Jennings Lodge neighborhood in  Clackamas county, Ore., have put up fliers advertising their new policy, calling  themselves the ‘Glock Block’, according to KOIN News.  ‘This is a Glock Block,’ the fliers read. ‘We  don’t call 911.’ Fed-up: Residents of a Clackamas County, Ore.,  neighborhood have started posting fliers telling criminals they are a ‘glock  block’ and that they don’t rely on police for protection. Trudeau to compensate charities that paid him to help raise money

OTTAWA – Justin Trudeau is promising to compensate all groups that paid him hefty speaking fees to participate in fundraising events since he became an MP. Duma bars Russian children from adoption by foreign same sex couples

Russia’s Lower House has passed an amendment that bans the adoption of Russian children by same sex couples from abroad. The amendment was passed on Tuesday as the State Duma approved  the second reading of the bill to protect orphans. The amendment also forbids single people who are citizens or  permanent residents of countries that allow same sex marriage to  become adoptive parents or legal guardians of Russian children. New York man facing criminal charges for stopping vandals

A New York man was arrested and charged for endangering the welfare of four children who allegedly broke into and vandalized his father-in-law’s home, causing property damage in excess of $40,000 The man locked the children into a closet until police arrived,  and claims he made no threats to hurt them. National Media Skip Over Charges U.S. Ambassador Abused ‘Minor Children’

There has been a rash of stories about U.S. State Department employees taking  drugs and cavorting with prostitutes. In addition, the Ambassador to Belgium,  Howard Gutman, was accused of soliciting prostitutes and minor children. Facebook got 10,000 requests for data from NSA in just six months (and Microsoft received 7,000 orders)

Facebook and Microsoft were able to reveal  limited information on Friday night about the government orders they have  received to turn over user data to security agencies. Ted Ullyot, Facebook’s general counsel, said  in a statement that they had between 9,000 and 10,000 requests from all  government entities, from local to federal, in the last six months of  2012.
