Pretty soon we aren’t going to be able to use very many words anymore… not unless we want to (GASP!) offend someone. In a world where governments are blowing up children with drones and calling them collateral damage in phony terror wars on a daily basis, social engineering has turned average people into walking arguments that the film Idiocracy was actually a documentary, busily wasting their time fretting over how offensive otherwise innocuous words are....

Alicia Powe Politics is always very polarizing, especially during election season. But Donald Trump may be one of the most polarizing political figures in decades. From Law Newz: A St. John’s University student was apparently so upset his classmate had a “Trump Make American Great Again” sticker on her laptop, he threatened to smash up her laptop. In his analysis for CounterPunch magazine, the freelance journalist called the Syrian Army’s successes in the country’s north a “game-changing triumph.” “Last week’s game-changing triumph in northern Syria has moved the Russian-led coalition to within striking distance of a decisive victory in Aleppo. After breaking the 40 month-long siege on the cities of Nuble...

UN initiative to protect schools in war zones vetoed by Britain

Britain has refused to sign up to a UN agreement on protecting schools in wartime, which has been signed by 51 states, despite the fact it was drawn up by a former UK military officer. The agreement was championed by the UN children’s fund UNICEF to protect schools from attack during conflicts. However, it was reported on Tuesday by the Telegraph newspaper that Foreign Secretary Phillip Hammond had effectively vetoed the move after having opposed it as head of two government departments.
