Bernie Sanders, Climate Hawk, Spends Nearly $300K On Private Jet Travel In Month

Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders’s re-election campaign spent just under $300,000 on private jet use in October, Federal Election Commission (FEC) records show.

The Sanders campaign, which is funded primarily by small-dollar donors, paid Apollo Jets $297,685.50 on Oct. 10, FEC records reveal. The payment was marked for “transportation.”

“This expense was for transportation for the senator’s 9-day, 9-state tour to support Democratic candidates up and down the ballot ahead of Election Day,” campaign spokeswoman Arianna Jones told local website, which first reported on the jet expenses.

Caught selling deadly drugs

A downtown Kelowna drug dealer added a 47th and 48th conviction to his criminal record Wednesday after pleading guilty to two separate charges from last year.

The charges stem from two undercover RCMP investigations, the first occurring on July 8, 2017.

An undercover officer approached Stephan Rauner in City Park that afternoon and asked if he could buy heroin.

Rauner, who was picking up garbage, sold the officer .2 grams of heroin for $40 and told him it was “good sh*t,” before the pair fist bumped and the officer walked away.

Lab tests showed the drug contained both heroin and carfentanil, an extremely potent opioid that’s 100 times stronger than fentanyl and used commercially to sedate elephants.

Rauner wasn’t arrested until Aug. 17, when he was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, and then released on bail.

Trump proposes a government-run TV news network to counter CNN

President Donald Trump yesterday proposed creating a government-run TV network that would broadcast globally to show the world how great America is.

Trump pitched the state-run network as an alternative to CNN. “Throughout the world, CNN has a powerful voice portraying the United States in an unfair and false way,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “Something has to be done, including the possibility of the United States starting our own Worldwide Network to show the World the way we really are, GREAT!”

Inside one man’s failed plan to use a stolen forklift to assassinate Trump

Last fall, President Trump flew to Mandan, N.D., to give a speech at the largest oil refinery in the state. His brief visit made a few minor headlines: In a rare show of bipartisanship, Trump had joined Heidi Heitkamp, then the state’s Democratic junior senator, to tout his tax overhaul plan. (She would later oppose the bill.)

And once at the Mandan Refinery, Trump had spontaneously invited his eldest daughter, White House adviser Ivanka Trump, onto the stage, telling the crowd that she had asked, “Daddy, can I go with you?”

Last week, it was revealed that the trip was noteworthy for another reason: A North Dakota man had been arrested at the refinery on the day of Trump’s visit, reportedly over a plan to assassinate the president — using a stolen forklift.
