Insights into Kelowna’s Hells Angels Clubhouse deemed inadmissible

A legal document that’s mapped out what is and isn’t acceptable in a piece of evidence submitted for a long-running trial is offering a peek into Hells Angels clubhouses.

The document was submitted by the civil forfeiture director, who is trying to get Hells Angels clubhouses in Kelowna, East Vancouver and Nanaimo forfeited to the government as the instruments of criminal activity. The Hells Angels have counter-sued the government in an attempt to keep their property, claiming the Civil Forfeiture Act is unconstitutional.

License to Kill: Wind and Solar Decimate Birds and Bats

According to a study in the Wildlife Society Bulletin, every year 573,000 birds (including 83,000 raptors) and 888,000 bats are killed by wind turbines — 30 percent higher than the federal government estimated in 2009, due mainly to increasing wind power capacity across the nation.[i] This is likely an underestimate because these estimates were based on 51,630 megawatts of installed wind capacity in the United States in 2012 and wind capacity has grown since then to 65,879 megawatts. And, at one solar power plant in California, an estimated 3,500 birds died in just the plant’s first year of operation.[ii]

Over the past five years, about 2.9 million birds were killed by wind turbines. That compares to about 800,000 birds that a Mother Jones Blog estimated to have been killed by the BP oil spill that occurred in April 2010[iii]—5 years ago–despite not all of them showing visible signs of oil.[1] Nevertheless, BP was fined $100 million for killing and harming migratory birds due to that oil spill

The U.K. Must Ban Pointy Knives, Says Church of England

When the human condition resists perfection through legislation, the answer always seems to be more—and stupider—laws.

Despite a host of legal restrictions on firearms and knives, not to mention a society that increasingly resembles a panopticon in the thoroughness of the surveillance to which it’s subjected, the U.K.’s crime rates remain stubbornly resistant to reduction. Last year, London’s murder rate briefly overtook that of New York City—a feat likely to be repeated as crime continues its decline in the U.S.—and the latest U.K. figures show an increase in violent crimes committed with both guns and knives.

More unhinged rhetoric from the left: Dems call for violence against GOP

The Democrats and other opponents of President Trump are so consumed with rage at being rejected they’re not even hiding their desire to provoke violence against their objects of hate. Yes, objects, plural.

The public chattering class of Democrats and Republicans who remain apoplectic about Mr. Trump’s success and their own pathetic failures hate Mr. Trump because they hate the average American who put him in office. The president is the proxy for the American voter and every person who dared to fire the establishment in 2016, and it’s those people who must be dealt with.

Democrats Are the Ones Who Have Been Inciting Violence against Their Political Opponents

After the spectacle of Robert Mueller’s real time crumbling apart like a stale cookie, pundits took to the air to voice their frustration that Democrats are simply not tough enough to take on the Trump machine.  For what it’s worth, recurring mosquito Joe Scarborough buzzed, “If you want to stop Donald Trump, it is time to … roll up your sleeves and go after him and do whatever it takes to win”.  Michael Moore tweeted that Trump wins because “he understands that Dems aren’t street fighters”.  It’s a crude but successful tactic.  It’s the I thought I married a real man, but I guess I was wrong attempt to shame your partner into dealing with life’s challenges more forcefully.

Over at National Review, Michael Brendan Dougherty opined that Trump’s victories are the result of a timid opposition.  He writes that “aggression is not the natural language of our political class”.  I would argue that he is half right.  Many Republicans, especially the self-proclaimed “principled” types, are loath to use not just aggressive language, but any uncouth monosyllabic brogue they consider beneath their pedigree.  But aggressive language seems ominously natural when leftists speak about pretty much anyone who disagrees with them.

It was aggressive language when then-candidate Barack Obama told a Philadelphia crowd, “If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun.  Because from what I understand, folks in Philly like a good brawl. I’ve seen Eagles fans.”  Ever the politician, Obama had enough sense to add the cute football reference, giving him the wiggle room needed for a future cop-out.
