‘Huge Impact’ on Kids, Families If Schools Don’t Open

School districts across the country have had all summer to come up with plans to safely reopen schools, and there will be a “huge impact” on children and their parents alike if that doesn’t happen, but Democrats want to keep everything closed, Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said Wednesday.

“I think the president has been very clear that he is going to put the health and safety of kids first and foremost, but recognizing that we can balance that with starting school,” McDaniel said on Fox News’ “Outnumbered Overtime.” “There is a huge impact on school not starting, not just on the mental health of kids … also on the family.”

Prominent Canadian conservative group endorses Dr. Leslyn Lewis for CPC leader

Conservative action group Elect Conservatives announced their endorsement of Dr. Leslyn Lewis for Conservative Party leader.

“Throughout the leadership campaign, Dr. Lewis has championed a movement inclusive of minorities and youth, unabashedly conservative, providing for a vision of Canada founded on positive change,” Elect Conservatives said in a statement released on Tuesday.

“With even her competitors seeming like they would prefer Lewis over anyone else, it’s quite clear who can sidestep this dispute, first uniting the conservative movement and then expanding it to ensure victory.

Justin Trudeau Faces Ethics Probe Over Government’s WE Charity Contract

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau confirmed at press briefing that he did not recuse himself from discussions at cabinet and the decision surrounding the WE Charity contract. “No, I did not,” he told reporters.

“I had long worked on youth issues both before I got into politics and since I’ve been in politics as youth critic, getting young people involved in serving their country, recognizing their desire to build a better Canada, particularly through this time of crisis is something I believe in deeply.”

Coronavirus News: Wife takes job as dishwasher at nursing home just to see husband

A woman in Florida got a new job as a dish washer at a long-term care facility just so she can see her husband during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mary and Steve Daniel have been married for 24 years.

Steve is fighting Alzheimer’s disease and lives in a memory care facility full-time.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the facility is not accepting visitors, so the couple had not seen each other in more than three months.

Mary was willing to do whatever it took to be with her husband.

“He saw me and said ‘Mary’ and we hugged and just like how I thought it would be just a hold him again after 114 days is just an amazing, amazing feeling,” Mary said.
