Thousands of Anti-TPP protesters rally in New Zealand

Thousands of Anti-TPP protesters rally in New Zealand Thousands of demonstrators gathered throughout New Zealand to speak out against the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade deal on Saturday. Extra police were called in as protesters pushed through barriers in front of the country’s parliament building. Auckland saw the biggest turnout, with an estimated 5,000 people calling on the New Zealand government to “walk away” from the TPP agreement. Many held placards reading “Don’t trade our needs for corporate greed,” and “Enough is enough.” Video footage shows a demonstrator on stage in the city’s Aotea Square asking “Who’s got the power?”… View Article

China Devaluation Exposes Fragility of Globalized Economy

China Devaluation Exposes Fragility of Globalized Economy by Kevin Kearns “If the U.S. doesn’t write the rules, China will write the rules,” is a slogan that President Obama has repeated endlessly to sell the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). The president is in effect saying that the United States would force China into complying with a U.S.-preferred set of rules simply by setting them down in the TPP. This claim is an analytically-free assertion if there ever was one, and completely unlikely even if China joined the TPP in the future. Yet the slogan was also mouthed mindlessly by Republican free-trade parrots… View Article

How To Build A Tactical Range Yourself

How To Build A Tactical Range Yourself It might take some space in your shop and some innovative merchandising, but tactical shooters are looking for targets beyond paper and cardboard. by Brian McCombie With the nation’s ever-growing number of gun owners, and self-defense training of paramount importance, shooting ranges are busier than ever before. So busy, many shooters are now avoiding the crowds by building their own backyard and do-it-yourself shooting ranges. And tactical shooters lead the way, creating their own shooting venues for sighting-in, general practice and run-and-gun drills. Which means that you, the tactical retailer, have a chance… View Article

Justin Trudeau’s pie-in-the-sky platform

Justin Trudeau’s pie-in-the-sky platform By Murray Mandryk, The Starphoenix   Justin Trudeau’s pie-in-the-sky platform As Liberal leader Justin Trudeau took a leisurely stroll down Regina’s Scarth Street Mall, you got the distinct impression he could be anywhere. Alas, this may be the precise problem for Trudeau and his entire Liberal campaign. Canada is just not as generic as the Liberal leader would hope it to be. This is not to suggest that Saskatchewan and Regina haven’t become as cosmopolitan as anywhere else in urban Canada, with farmers’ markets or virtually any other such amenities one would find anywhere....

Healing the economy with love? What was Trudeau talking about?

Healing the economy with love? What was Trudeau talking about? By Tasha Kheiriddin For the federal Conservatives, Election 2015 was supposed to be about just two issues: security and the economy. Security remains on the front burner, thanks to fresh reports of ISIS atrocities. (The latest horror is this week’s New York Times story about the group’s systematic use of rape and sexual enslavement as a weapon.) Despite the overreach of the Conservative government’s domestic anti-terror legislation, such reports remind Canadians why our country needs to actively combat this menace, at home and overseas. The economy is proving to be… View Article

Canadian Tire Sells guns – Govt Owned Golf Course

Canadian Tire Sells guns – Govt Owned Golf Course A Nova Scotia woman is worried about Canadian Tire getting back into the firearms business. Pamela Harrison says having more guns available in the province will mean there’s a greater chance for people to be killed or hurt. She says when a Canadian retail icon sells firearms, it sends the wrong message. “What it is in some way saying [is], ‘Hey guys, come on, it’s OK to buy guns again,” said Harrison. Harrison represents the Transition House of Nova Scotia, an association for member organizations who provide transitional services to...

Religious Liberty Is a Sacred Right

Religious Liberty Is a Sacred Right by David Bossie America’s constitutionally protected religious liberties are under attack. Time and time again, we’ve witnessed these liberties targeted, threatened, and abused by liberal policies, politicians, and judges in the name of “equality.” Citizens United, and our half million members across the nation, are fed up defending a right that shouldn’t need defense. But, we must defeat the Left’s war on religion, which is why we support H.R. 2802 – The First Amendment Defense Act. The First Amendment to the Constitution is crystal clear on the issue of religious liberty in America. However,… View Article
