                      Chicago Ends Gun Registry, Eliminates City Gun Permit On September 11, Chicago’s city council abolished its 45-year old gun registry and the city’s gun permit requirement amid pressure from the Supreme Court and the U.S. 7th Circuit Court Appeals.
