Canada’s plan to make boycotting Israel a ‘hate crime’ is stupid and counterproductive

Canada’s plan to make boycotting Israel a ‘hate crime’ is stupid and counterproductive The new law would put Jews and civil society groups on trial for anti-Semitism I’ve never been keen on boycotts. The one against Italy for invading Abyssinia didn’t work. Nor did the arms blockade on Spain. I’m still not sure that boycotting South Africa really brought down apartheid. I rather suspect that the old racists simply realised they were hopelessly outnumbered by the blacks of South Africa and that the game was up. And I’m still unconvinced that boycotting Israel, even though it frightens the right-wing crazies… View Article

TAX MATTERS Overtaxing the rich: A cautionary tale

TAX MATTERS Overtaxing the rich: A cautionary tale by TIM CESTNICK The nice thing about an election year that’s accompanied by federal budget surpluses is that it’s fertile ground for tax cuts – and both the Conservatives and Liberals have promised that tax savings are on the way. But who should really benefit from tax cuts? While it might not seem politically correct to suggest that the rich should get the lion’s share of tax breaks, let me share a story that I first shared many years ago that provides food for thought here. The cost of dinner Each and… View Article

If You’re Late Paying Bills, We Will Prohibit You From Ever Owning a Firearm…

VA to Veterans: If You’re Late Paying Bills, We Will Prohibit You From Ever Owning a Firearm… By Michael Connelly Since I wrote this article titled “Disarming America’s Heroes” I have been inundated with emails and phone calls from veterans and the families of veterans. The horror stories I am hearing are proof that the VA and the Obama administration have launched an all out assault on the Constitutional rights of our nation’s wounded warriors and other veterans. Veterans are being declared incompetent not because they have a serious mental illness that makes them a danger to themselves or others,… View Article

Matthew McConaughey Talks Up Conservative Principles

Matthew McConaughey Talks Up Conservative Principles During University of Houston Commencement Speech While giving a commencement speech to the University of Houston’s 2015 graduating class, Academy Award winning actor Matthew McConaughey delivered some conservative remarks that liberals will not be very fond of. You know, stuff like “work hard,” and “don’t be a victim.” From Breitbart: “Congratulations class of 2015,” he began. “Life’s not fair. It never was, isn’t now and won’t ever be.
