Handguns, not assault rifles, used in most mass shootings

Crime study: Handguns, not assault rifles, used in most mass shootings Media hype about mass shootings in America has fostered a myth that the killings are on the rise and that an assault weapon ban, expanded background checks and greater attention to the mentally ill will curb a rampaging epidemic, according to an authoritative and exhaustive study by a noted criminologist. Instead, according to James Alan Fox, author and criminology professor at Northeastern University, mass shootings have remained stagnant over 34 years, averaging 20 a year, and few were committed by the type of berserk… View Article

Gun Control Socialists Hate Gun Owners

Real Reasons Liberals Hate Guns Power of the People vs. Power of the Government What occurred in Newtown, Connecticut on that fateful December 14th morning was and remains heartbreaking. This tragedy, purpetrated by a crazed, lone 20-year old gunman, has vaulted the debate over gun control to perhaps an unprecedented level. There is, without a doubt, some type of federal gun legislation on the horizon in early 2013, perhaps as early as Wednesday, January… View Article

NRA 2013 Victories, Prepares for 2014 Fights “We’ve never been up against a bigger juggernaut in the history of this association.” With those words, Wayne LaPierre, CEO of the National Rifle Association, called upon NRA leaders gathered in Virginia last week to prepare for battle in this midterm election year, even as they looked back on a year of victories that the D.C. political establishment had said were unachievable. Study Shows Gun Bans Result In More Murders

Study Shows Gun Bans Result In More Murders John Lott of the Crime Prevention Research Center has released a report that will make the gun grabbers cringe. He points out that, “every place that guns have been banned, murder rates have gone up.” In Great Britain after their 1997 ban, there was nearly a 50% rise in homicide rates. Violent crime also skyrocketed in Australia after their ban on certain guns. And of course “gun free zones” have been a hot bed for shootings.
