More Military Families Choosing Homeschooling Over Common Core

More Military Families Choosing Homeschooling Over Common Core More military parents are choosing homeschooling as an alternative to the in-school environment, even as Common Core supporters tout supposed significant benefits of the nationalized standards particularly for these on-the-move families. The official website of the Common Core standards cites a statement – apparently given prior to their publishing – by Gen. Benjamin C. Freakley, commanding general, United States Army Accessions Command, in which he said: “The rigor of the proposed academic Common Core State Standards will be a benefit to military-dependent students everywhere.” In his full statement in support of the… View Article

Terrorizing Canada With Stephen Harper

Terrorizing Canada With Stephen Harper by MURRAY DOBBIN Powell River, British Columbia. The Harper government’s pursuit of its odious Secret Police Act (C51) is just another chapter in the most through-going, and massive social engineering project in the history of the country. Social engineering used to be one of the favourite phrases of the right in its attack on social programs – accusing both liberal-minded politicians and meddling bureaucrats with manufacturing the welfare state. They conveniently ignored the fact that there was huge popular demand and support for activist government. That was the so-called golden age of capitalism and it… View Article

Rising China arms exports threaten US influence worldwide – report

Rising China arms exports threaten US influence worldwide – report Chinese-made advanced weapons systems flooding the international market over the next 10 years will cause instability, and make it a lot harder for the US to intervene in other countries, Foreign Policy magazine warned. FP analyzed the impact of Beijing’s rapidly increasing role in the global arms market in an article titled: ‘China’s Weapons of Mass Consumption.’ China’s shift from small arms to advanced weapons systems is proven by the sale of drones to Africa and the Middle East in 2011, a contract to supply three frigates to Algeria in… View Article

There will be adjustments living in Google’s brave new world

There will be adjustments living in Google’s brave new world There are 48,000 Google searches every second. That translates to 3.5 billion per day, and 1.2 trillion per year worldwide. That’s twice as many as there were just six years ago. Every six out of 10 searches on the Internet are through Google’s engine. You probably use it a dozen times a day yourself, even if you accept it as the gateway to a world often ruled by half-truths and witless lies, because the results they spit back at you are based more on popularity than veracity. Now imagine the… View Article

Lt. Jeff Oxton of the St. Cloud Police Department says Friday’s altercation never rose to a… View Article

Gun-Controlled NYC Installs Special Mics to Record Ongoing Gun Crime

Gun-Controlled NYC Installs Special Mics to Record Ongoing Gun Crime With the myriad of gun restrictions and bans contained in the Secure Ammunition and Firearms Enforcement (SAFE) Act of 2013 now in effect throughout New York state, it is ironic to see New York City installing special microphones to capture the sounds of gun crime in the city. After all, the restrictions and bans contained in the SAFE Act include an “assault weapons” ban; a background check requirement for all gun sales–retail and private; and a ban on “high capacity” magazines. These are three of the most popular requirements pushed… View Article
