Gays, Lesbians, Bisexuals Less than Supposed

CDC: Nation’s Percentage of Gays, Lesbians, Bisexuals Less than Supposed The Washington Post reports that a highly definitive study from 2013 has pegged the size of the gay population in the United States at far less than has sometimes been estimated. The National Health Interview Survey by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which is the federal government’s most relied upon estimate of the nation’s health and behaviors, found that fewer than 3% of respondents self-identified as gay, lesbian, or bisexual. Only 1.6% of respondents self-identified as gay or lesbian, and even less, 0.7%, self-identified as bisexual. The estimate… View Article

India recriminalises homosexuality

India recriminalises homosexuality Back in 2009, Lesley Esteves was dancing in the streets after judges in Delhi decriminalised homosexuality. When the Delhi High Court suspended the draconian Section 377 of the Indian penal code which dated from the days of British rule, India’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community thought there was no turning back. Five years on the euphoria has gone. In December, the country’s highest court overturned the lower court’s ruling, once again making gay sex a crime punishable by up to ten years in jail and putting tens of millions of Indians at risk… View Article

Chelsea Clinton Moron?

Chelsea Clinton Moron?: Gay Rights the Primary 21st Century Human Rights Issue Chelsea Clinton, whose own personal resume makes her a woman of rather doubtful  importance, weighed in on what should be the chief focus for human rights advocates in the 21st century. Of course, being an overwhelmingly Christian nation meant millions of Americans strongly objected to homosexuality on moral and religious grounds. But Americans are also the… View Article

Judges order Christians to work for ‘gays’

Judges order Christians to work for ‘gays’ Justices on the New Mexico Supreme Court have ruled that the First Amendment does not protect the beliefs of Christians and owners of a photography company in that state must violate their faith in order to continue to do business. “The Huguenins today can no more turn away customers on the basis of sexual orientation – photographing a same-sex marriage ceremony – than they could refuse to photograph African-Americans or Muslims,” the opinion from the court said. “All of which, I assume, is little comfort to the Huguenins, who now are compelled by… View Article
