by AWR Hawkins Kansas Campus Carry Law Set to Take Effect A law allowing the concealed carry of handguns on college and university campuses in Kansas takes effect on July 1, 2017. In April 2013, Kansas Governor Sam Brownback (R) signed the law “authorizing those who get [concealed carry] licenses to carry concealed weapons into any state or municipal building except those that have ‘adequate security measures’ such as metal detectors or trained guards.” The Lawrence Journal-World reports that universities were granted “a four-year exemption” to give them time to add “adequate security” to buildings in which they did not… View Article
