Of course I have guns. And I shoot them

By Bill Borrows Hollywood hotshot Kurt Russell’s got the perfect qualifications for the new Tarantino film. But, as he tells Event, he’s no stranger to violence: his first acting job was to kick Elvis in the shin! ‘Sure I believe in the right to bear arms, as guaranteed under the Second Amendment of the American constitution,’ explains 64-year-old Kurt Russell, Hollywood A-lister and long-term partner of Goldie Hawn. He is not ranting or raving in his luxurious hotel suite in the West End of London. Far from it. This dapper and urbane man is sitting one leg crossed over the… View Article

Switzerland to hold referendum on banning private banks from creating money

A radical initiative to strip private banks of their power to “create money” and make it exclusively a central bank privilege has gathered enough support for the Swiss government to announce a referendum on the issue. A vote in favor may result in a return to 100 percent reserve banking. “Banks won’t be able to create money for themselves anymore, they’ll only be able to lend money that they have from savers or other banks, or even, if necessary, money that the Swiss National Bank has provided them,” the campaign said in a statement on their petition website. As soon the… View Article

Pentagon refuses to share intel on ISIS until Moscow’s stance on Assad changes

Washington will not share intelligence data on Islamic State positions in Syria and will not accept Moscow’s offer to cooperate on rooting out terrorism until Moscow changes its position on Syrian President Bashar Assad’s future, the Pentagon said. Ever since the start of the Russian campaign in Syria in late September, Moscow has been offering to share information with the US-led coalition against Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL), urging Washington to reciprocate. After months of extensive diplomatic efforts by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defense, and the Kremlin, the Pentagon is still refusing to enter the proposed… View Article

by: J. D. The 10 ways Obama has actively sought to destroy America

by: J. D. Heyes Most Americans don’t want to believe they could elect a president who would actively seek to undermine the country and destroy many of our fundamental institutions, but after nearly seven years of onetime community organizer Barack Hussein Obama as president, millions of voters are convinced that he came to office specifically with an agenda to take the United States down several notches. In fact, many Americans believe that Obama even admitted as much, albeit in a cryptic sort of way, when he declared just five days before the November 2008 election that he wanted to “fundamentally… View Article

Russia says its strikes reduce oil smuggling to Turkey

Russia said Friday that trucks loaded with oil continue to cross from Syria into Turkey but in lesser numbers thanks to its bombing campaign against Islamic State jihadists. “Oil tank trucks are continuing to cross the Syrian-Turkish border,” the defence ministry said in a statement. Citing intelligence data, Moscow said the number of oil tankers moving along the so-called northern route towards a refinery in the Turkish city of Batman had gone down. The same could be seen along the western route leading to Reyhanli and Iskenderun, the two Turkish cities on the Mediterranean coast, the ministry said. “The number… View Article

ISIS sanctions organ harvesting from living ‘apostates’… even if it kills them

slamic State’s human organ harvesting is sanctioned by a fatwa issued last January, when the group’s Islamic scholars explained that internals of ‘apostates’ could be extracted from their bodies for the needs of Muslims, even if the ‘donors’ die. A document obtained by Reuters reveals that organs harvesting is charitable deed by codes of Islamic State (IS, former ISIS/ISIL), maintains IS’ Research and Fatwa Committee. “The apostate’s life and organs don’t have to be respected and may be taken with impunity,” says Fatwa (religious ruling) #68 issued January 31, 2015. “The notion that transplanting healthy organs into a Muslim person’s… View Article
