Having turned back more formidable challengers, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel was supposed to be reelected to another term in February. Instead, a resurgent left-wing base, fueled by newly engaged Hispanic voters, forced Rahm into the first-ever run-off race for Mayor.
