Missouri May Become 12th State that Won’t Require Permit for Concealed Handguns

John S. Roberts One state is in the right frame of mind, now if only the other 49 would board the train we’d be more safe. Missouri lawmakers passed a bill making The Show-Me State the latest to join the “constitutional carry” club, expanding the state’s doctrine. Former NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Everytown for Gun Safety were against the measure… From Federalist Papers via Breitbart: According to Fox 2 St. Louis, the Everytown ad claims the legislation “make it easier for violent criminals to carry guns.” And the ad is full of hyperbolic language which tends to frighten citizens...

California Democrats To Launch ‘Gunpocalpyse’ May 16

by AWR Hawkins Democrat lawmakers in California are preparing to launch “Gunpocalypse” on Monday, May 16. The Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) warns that anti-gun lawmakers will be relentless in their legislative assault, as they want to secure success for their favorite gun control proposals before Lt. Governor Gavin Newsom (D) has a chance to step in and upstage them via his ballot initiative in November on background checks for ammunition. FPC legislative advocate Craig DeLuz warns: Democrats have given up on any illusion of respect for the process or the voice of the people. The saddest part is that they...

by AWR Hawkins On May 12, Vermont lawmakers rejected initiatives designed to put universal background checks in place for law-abiding citizens in the state. This was the fourth consecutive year that universal background checks have been rejected in Vermont. VermontWatchdog.org quoted Gun Owners of Vermont’s Bob DePino, who explained that universal checks were pushed but defeated in 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016. After the gun control was defeated again this year, DePino said, “They keep coming. They tried and they tried it again.” One of the bills introduced this year — S31 — “would have made criminal background checks required for… View Article

Gabby Giffords: Universal Background Checks Not Enough, Legalize Confiscation

by AWR Hawkins On May 9 — less than two years since universal background checks were hoisted onto the backs of law-abiding citizens in Washington state — Gabby Giffords was in the state campaigning for special protective orders that will allow firearm confiscation. The orders — “Extreme Risk Protection Orders” — would be similar to California’s Gun Violence Restraining Orders, inasmuch as they would allow “family or household members” to petition a judge to order the temporary confiscation of firearms from another family member or person living in the household. Seattlepi.com reported on Giffords’s visit to support the confiscatory orders...

NH Senate Concurs with House: No Concealed Permit Required

by AWR Hawkins On Thursday, the New Hampshire Senate concurred with the House and passed legislation to eliminate the requirement for a license to carry concealed in the Granite State. The legislation — HB 582 — would simply treat concealed carry like open carry, which is already legal to do without a permit in New Hampshire. In short, HB 582 removes the requirement that citizens pay the state for a concealed permit before exercising their Second Amendment rights. According to the New Hampshire Union Leader, the Senate vote was 14-10, in favor of repealing the permit requirement. Sen. Gary Daniels… View Article

This is The Best Gun Store Sign of ALL TIME

Robert Gehl reports stripping American citizens of Constitutional rights is no trivial matter. We have a system – due process – and no fewer than two Amendments designed to protect Americans from having their rights stripped away before being brought before a court. But in some states – liberal states like Connecticut, especially – there is no due process. It’s gone. Tyranny reigns. Because Gov. Dannel Mallow is about to sign a law that strips accused domestic abusers of their Second Amendment right with no due process whatsoever. The intentions may be noble – but we all know what...

Concealed Carry Among Women Up ‘Nearly 62 Percent’ in Washington State

by AWR Hawkins Concealed carry among women is up “nearly 62 percent” in Washington state. This makes Washington a microcosm of a trend across the country, where female concealed carry is surging. And with 535,596 concealed permit holders statewide, men and women combined, the recent surge means women now possess slightly more than a quarter of all concealed permits in the state. In Kitsap alone, the number of women obtaining a concealed carry permit has jumped...
