Gun-Controlled Chicago Surpasses 730 Homicides for 2016

by AWR Hawkins Over 730 homicides were committed between January 1, 2016, and December 6, 2016 in gun-controlled Chicago. The Chicago Tribune places the exact number at 731, a figure which represents approximately 240 more homicides than the city witnessed in all of 2015. And it is still just the first week of December. Amnesty Groups Fight to Hide California Gang Database From Trump

by AWR Hawkins Immigration advocacy groups are asking California Attorney General Kamala Harris to “block federal access” to the database containing names of gang members in the state. The goal is to block access before President-elect Donald Trump is sworn in, thereby preventing his administration from seeing the names of individuals who could find themselves on a the deportation short list. Semiautomatic Rifles and Handguns Legalized for Hunting in Pennsylvania

by AWR Hawkins A new law, signed last week by Governor Tom Wolf (D), opens the door for the Pennsylvania Game Commission to allow semiautomatic rifles and handguns to be used for hunting beginning in 2017. “Semiautomatic” refers to the firearm’s action; such an action uses recoil to cycle, replacing a spent shell with a loaded one so it is chambered and ready to go when the hunter pulls the trigger.
