Poll: Support for Increase in Muslim Immigration Collapses in Australia

by Simon Kent Australian voter support for a lift in immigration of Muslims has collapsed in the wake of last week’s Islamic State-inspired terror attack in Melbourne. According to a Fairfax Media Ipsos poll, support for an increase in Muslim immigration dropped from 23 percent to a bare 14 percent between October and November, the Australian Financial Review reports. Just 35 percent of those polled believe the intake should stay the same. Another 46 percent believe the intake should be reduced a lot or a little – a position backed by a clear majority of supporters of the governing...

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Declares War on White, Moderate Democrats

by Joel B. Pollak Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez backed an effort Saturday by a group called the Justice Democrats, which opposes “Democratic incumbents who are demographically and ideologically out-of-touch with their districts.” The Justice Democrats helped Ocasio-Cortez oust veteran Rep. Joe Crowley (D-NY) in a primary in New York’s 14th congressional district earlier this year. In a tweet, she supported the Justice Democrats’ new “#OurTime” campaign: If you’re a strong progressive leader in your community and committed to getting money out of politics, I want you to join me in Congress. I want you to run. To run in 2020 without...

Socialism is Popular Again With Young Americans, They Remind Me of the USSR’s ‘True Believers’

Dr. Paul Kindlon There is currently a growing number among the far left in America calling for the downfall of Capitalism – to be replaced by Socialism. It is a movement that began in earnest with the Bernie Sanders campaign for the presidency – Sanders being a moderate Socialist from very liberal Vermont. This movement has now expanded to include hard-core socialists and communists many of whom believe in the real need for revolution. Not surprisingly these radicals share a special fondness for the Soviet Union as a model of successful communism. They are well-intentioned people, but they do...

by Charlie Nash In a lengthy post, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg addressed common concerns and detailed his plans for Facebook in the near future, which included penalizing “borderline” provocative content and stopping users from engaging with it. In a section of the post titled, “Discouraging Borderline Content,” Zuckerberg declared, “One of the biggest issues social networks face is that, when left unchecked, people will engage disproportionately with more sensationalist and provocative content.” “This is not a new phenomenon. It is widespread on cable news today and has been a staple of tabloids for more than a century. At scale...

In August she told Polish...

Japanese don’t want migrants: Fear rise in crime and increased pressure on social security

By Paul Dijks Prime Minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe, has revealed that Japan will allow up to 340,000 foreign workers in the next five years to offset Japan’s declining workforce. Since his admission of opening doors to mass immigration for the first time in the country’s history, he has faced a massive backlash. For the first time in Japan’s history, if the amendment passes, the plan to include visas for foreign workers with “specified skills” would be introduced. Mr Abe told the Japanese parliament: “Barring a significant change in circumstances we won’t accept workers beyond these levels. “Unless circumstances...

According to Danish newspaper Berlingske, Andersson and Jespersen have far left roots, but have changed their views over time and moved towards the political centre. 60% Of Italians Think EU Is Bad For Italy

by Tyler Durden If the European Commission does levy billions of fines against the Italian government (or enforce some other punishment), some “60 million Italians will rise up” against the trade bloc – or at least that’s what a clearly frustrated Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini told a group of Italian reporters following reports that the Commission could move to punish Italy as soon as next week. The Italian people, Salvini added, would never accept those penalties, according to a report in Italy’s ANSA newswire. And according to the latest polling, there’s more than a little truth to that....
