Veto looms for U.S. Congress’s push to approve Keystone

Veto looms for U.S. Congress’s push to approve Keystone Bipartisan efforts to force U.S. President Barack Obama to approve the controversial Keystone XL pipeline face a near-certain veto, the White House signalled Thursday, setting the stage for more drama and delay over the plan to funnel Alberta crude across the United States to Gulf refineries. As Congress readied bills demanding passage of the long-delayed (and now far-more-expensive) $8-billion pipeline with the President away in Asia, a confrontation loomed. Mr. Obama “has taken a dim view of these kinds of legislative proposals in the past,” Josh Earnest, the White House spokesman… View Article

NRA: ‘Absolutely No Scenario’ Where We Endorse Harry Reid in 2016 On November 12, the NRA told Breitbart News there is “absolutely no scenario” in which they would endorse Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) in 2016. Reid’s last run for office was in 2010, and even then, the NRA refused to endorse him. The NRA made clear that neither the organization nor executive vice president Wayne LaPierre endorsed Reid. Since then—and especially since the heinous, criminal attack on Sandy Hook Elementary in December 2012—Reid’s push for gun control has only widened the chasm that existed between him and the NRA in… View Article

Obama ‘Defiant’ When GOP Leaders Confronted Him On Executive Amnesty Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX), the incoming majority whip in the 114th Congress, described “person after person” aggressively confronting the president about his plans to issue a unilateral amnesty for millions of illegal aliens at a closed-door lunch Friday. But President Obama was unbowed, even after an electoral shellacking last week, Cornyn said. “He was pretty defiant. He was pretty defiant,” Cornyn said. “For the president to poison the well at the very outset is really unimaginable.” The Texas Republican also discussed Obamacare repeal, saying the GOP would begin with repealing… View Article
