Liberal Canadian PM Trudeau’s Election Guru Advising Gina Miller’s Anti-Brexit Tactical Voting Campaign

by Jack Montgomery An adviser on tactical voting said to have helped swing the Canadian elections for the left wing Liberal Party is advising Gina Miller’s campaign to elect candidates with an “open mind” on Brexit. The British Guiana-born financier’s Best for Britain group has amassed a formidable war chest from partly foreign online donations and a contribution from businessman Sir Richard Branson – a keen EU enthusiast who was still arguing for Britain to join the euro as recently as 2015. The Financial Times reports her new adviser, Egyptian-born Hisham Abdel-Rahman, played a key role in helping swing the Canadian...

Police Force Replaces Traditional Helmets to Attract Transgender and ‘Non-Binary’ Recruits

by Virginia Hale Northamptonshire Police have replaced the world-famous helmets traditionally worn by officers in Britain with ‘gender-neutral’ baseball caps after hearing that gender-specific hats were preventing LGBT people who consider themselves neither male nor female from joining the police service. Officers began wearing the new so-called “Bump Caps”  — which the police force explains are “essentially baseball caps with a reinforced internal frame”  — on Wednesday.  By 9 June, the gender-neutral headgear will have completely replaced the men’s traditional Custodian helmet, and women’s bowler hat. The traditional police helmet, now seen less frequently in favour of less formal headwear...

by Liam Deacon   The BBC has made a drama about girls affected by Muslim rape gangs – with no mention of Islam in press releases or the trailer, the writer claiming “there was no religious basis for this”. Three Girls, which will be aired 16 May on BBC One, tells the story of three children from Rochdale targeted by a gang of Pakistani and Afghani origin Muslims between 2005 and 2008.  The case resulted in the 2012 conviction of the nine men for serious sexual offences, including rape and human trafficking, inflicted on girls as young as 13. “The...

Gun-Controlled Mexico Second Only to Syria in ‘Armed Conflict,’ Violence

by AWR Hawkins A report compiled by the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) shows that gun-controlled Mexico is second only to Syria when it comes to “armed conflict” and violence. It should be noted that Syria has been swallowed up by civil war for years, yet remains the only country with more violence than Mexico–according to the study. NPR reported the findings, noting, “The annual survey’s lead investigator says Mexico’s second-place ranking was surprising, considering the deaths are nearly all attributable to small arms, and not tanks or aircraft fire as in the political wars of Syria or Iraq.”...

Russia Investigation is ‘Adequately Resourced,’ Deputy FBI Director Says

by Kristina Wong Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe told senators on Thursday that contrary to news reports, the FBI’s investigation into Russian interference in the elections, including any collusion by Trump’s campaign, is “adequately resourced.” “I believe that the Russian investigation is adequately resourced,” he told the Senate Intelligence Committee at a hearing. The night before, two unnamed officials told the Washington Post that former FBI Director James Comey had requested more resources from the Justice Department for the investigation days before he was fired. The Imperative Of Replacing Google And Facebook

By Tony Cartalucci Nations are beginning to take more seriously the control of their respective information space after years of allowing US-based tech giants Google and Facebook to monopolize and exploit them. Vietnam, according to a recent GeekTime article, is the latest nation to begin encouraging local alternatives to the search engine and social media network in order to rebalance the monopoly over information both tech giants enjoy in the Southeast Asian country today. Google and Facebook: More than Search Engines and Social Media The two tech giants and others like them may have appeared at their inceptions to...
