President Trump Quietly Rolling Back Obama-Era Gun Controls

Georgia Lawmakers Pass Campus Carry, Sending It to Governor’s Desk

by AWR Hawkins Georgia lawmakers passed campus carry legislation early Friday morning, which now heads to Gov. Nathan Deal’s (R) desk for a signature. This is not the first time campus carry has been sent to Deal’s desk. The Georgia House passed campus carry on February 22, 2016, and the state’s Senate followed suit on March 11. Deal campaigned for campus carry as it moved from House to Senate, only to do an about-face and veto it on May 3. House Votes to Repeal Gun Ban for Military Veterans

by AWR Hawkins On Thursday the U.S. House voted to repeal the gun ban for military veterans via the passage of the Veterans 2nd Amendment Protection Act. This is the second major gun control bill that the House has voted to repeal since Barack Obama left office. They voted to repeal the Social Security gun ban on February 2, the Senate follow suit on February 15, and President Trump signed the repeal on February 28. New Mexico Lawmakers Reject Bloomberg-Endorsed Ban on Private Gun Sales

by AWR Hawkins Democrats’ last-ditch effort to pass a Michael Bloomberg-endorsed ban on private gun sales was rejected on Monday, bringing an end to any chance that such a measure could be passed this legislative session. On March 12, Breitbart News reported that State Representative Stephanie Garcia Richard (D-Los Alamos) sponsored HB 50. It mandated universal background checks on gun purchases throughout New Mexico.
