89-Year-Old WWII Vet Shoots and Kills Man Who Kicked in His Door On July 12, a Wake Forest, North Carolina, World War II veteran shot and killed a man who kicked in his door. According to WRAL.com, 89-year-old Calvin Anderson Ray went to answer his door and saw 47-year-old Jeffrey Daylon Mitchell standing there. Mitchell was upset over a broken air conditioner on a property Ray owned and had allegedly “threatened to kill [Ray] two or three times over the last 12 months,” so the WWII veteran retrieved his gun. Home owner shoots, kills intruder with shotgun

                    KANSAS CITY, Mo. — An early morning home invasion ended with the suspected intruder shot and killed. Police said a home owner in the 9000 block of N. Garfield in Kansas City, Mo., shot a man who broke into his home just after 5:30 Wednesday morning. The shooting victim suffered life-threatening injuries and died inside the residence.
