TEAM CSSA SPECIAL REPORT – December 18, 2013

TEAM CSSA SPECIAL REPORT – December 18, 2013   EXPLOSIVES ACT UPDATE – GOOD NEWS FOR HANDLOADERS   After eight years of consultation and development with Natural Resources Canada, CSSA/CILA are pleased to announce the introduction of new draft regulations for the storage and acquisition of handloading components and ammunition.  These regulations apply specifically to combustible ammunition components regulated under the Explosives Act.  We believe these new regulations will allow greater freedoms to handloaders without presenting significant restrictions for others.   CSSA/CILA were one of the principal organizations responsible for this progressive step forward for handloaders in Canada.  A brief summary...

TEAM CSSA E-NEWS – December 16, 2013 ** Please share this E-news with your friends ** COMMENTARY: WILL HIGH RIVER DOCUMENTARY FALL ON DEAF EARS? Kudos to Sun News and Lorne Gunter for the documentary Broken Trust: Gun Grab at High River. It is refreshing to see investigative journalism that refuses to kowtow to left-wing ambition. The documentary demonstrates chapter and verse that RCMP officers made some very bad decisions during the High River flood in late June. The source behind the orders that violated citizen’s rights remains unclear, but there was ample evidence that police lapsed into a...

CANADIAN SHOOTING SPORTS ASSOCIATION / CANADIAN INSTITUTE FOR LEGISLATIVE ACTION TEAM CSSA E-NEWS – December 09, 2013 ** Please share this E-news with your friends ** COMMENTARY: OUTDOORS CAUCUS ASSOCIATION AND FUR INSTITUTE EVENT A GREAT SUCCESS Anglers, hunters, trappers and sport shooters can take great pride in the Outdoors Caucus Association of Canada (OCAC) and the Fur Institute of Canada’s Inaugural Banquet and Live Auction held in Ottawa on December 3. The non-partisan gala event endorsed a theme that is important to us all – “A celebration of Canada’s conservation heritage.” The event provides an apt reminder to...

TEAM CSSA E-NEWS – December 02, 2013 ** Please share this E-news with your friends ** COMMENTARY: CANADA’S BUREAUCRATS RUN ROUGHSHOD OVER OUR RIGHTS Read the headline above again. Perhaps the saddest thing about life in 2013 is that responsible firearms owners can only agree and sigh, “Yeah, so what else is new?” There are so many left-wing activists-slash-bureaucrats on the federal government’s payroll that our individual rights are but a dim memory. If you don’t believe us, the proof is the news this week. To its great credit, our elected representatives kiboshed an anti-gun study poised to invoke...

CANADIAN SHOOTING SPORTS ASSOCIATION / CANADIAN INSTITUTE FOR LEGISLATIVE ACTION TEAM CSSA E-NEWS – November 25, 2013 ** Please share this E-news with your friends ** CSSA E-News – 25 November 2013 – draft COMMENTARY SUPREME COURT PANDERS TO QUEBEC BY HEARING GUN REGISTRY TWADDLE OMG. Canadians could well lose faith in their justice system, if they have any left. The recent decision by the Supreme Court of Canada (SCC) to hear Quebec’s appeal to preserve the gun registry data gives credence to “junk justice.” The proof that the firearms registry didn’t work is complete. So complete and irrefutable...

CANADIAN SHOOTING SPORTS ASSOCIATION / CANADIAN INSTITUTE FOR LEGISLATIVE ACTION TEAM CSSA E-NEWS – October 23, 2013 ** Please share this E-news with your friends ** COMMENTARY: DOES THRONE SPEECH LEAVE GUN OWNERS OUT IN THE COLD? The Speech from the Throne on October 16 lacked any positive indicators for responsible firearms owners. Hopefully, this is not the shape of things to come? As time goes on, it becomes clearer that there are many relatively new Conservative M.P.s who don’t really understand firearms issues, and some journeyman M.P.s may have forgotten. That doesn’t bode well for the future of...
